The Joy and Challenge of Raising an
Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) Child
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a Mormon. As such I am a student of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. I believe He is The Son of God, the only perfect person who has ever lived.
In studying His life, however, a singular element has frequently drawn my attention. That element is balance. Somehow he knew exactly when to be loving and forgiving, when to be boldly condemning and unrelenting. It strikes me that He extended forgiveness to the woman taken in adultery when the popular culture said, stone her. He held a whip and drove out the money handlers who were in temple when the popular culture said; this is how I make my living. He forgave the Romans who drove nails through his hands and feet. He condemned the Jewish ruling classes, calling them hypocrites and vipers. How does one achieve such balance? I know, as a believing Christian, I need to learn the answer to that question.
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 3:17 KJV
